Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday praised a group of children from Uzbekistan after they shared a video expressing their excitement over his visit to Tashkent.
The children welcomed PM Modi in Hindi and said they were looking forward to meeting him.
One student introduced himself as Samandhar and said students in Tashkent were eagerly awaiting the Prime Minister’s arrival.
Another child addressed PM Modi with a traditional ‘Namaste’ and said the people of Tashkent were looking forward to meeting him.
A girl spoke about learning Hindi and highlighted the influence of Indian culture in Uzbekistan.
Prime Minister Modi shared the video on X and appreciated the children’s efforts.
“As I am about to begin my Uzbekistan visit, I am very happy to see the enthusiasm of my young friends from Uzbekistan, beautifully expressed in this video. What makes it even more special is the fact that they did it in Hindi and they did it so well!” the Prime Minister posted.

Earlier on Saturday, PM Modi left for a two-nation tour covering Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. He is visiting Tashkent for two days at the invitation of Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
In his departure statement, PM Modi said India-Uzbekistan strategic ties had made significant progress in recent years. He said his talks with Mirziyoyev would, however, focus on expanding cooperation in trade and investment, digital connectivity, defence and energy.
The Prime Minister said the two leaders would discuss their shared visions of Viksit Bharat and Yangi Uzbekistan.
During his stay in Tashkent, the Prime Minister will likely visit the Shastri Memorial and the Mahatma Gandhi Centre at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. He described the sites as symbols of the close cultural and people-to-people ties between India and Uzbekistan.
