Bhagwat delivered the RSS’s annual Vijayadashami address in Nagpur on the organisation’s Foundation Day. He highlighted self-awareness, Swadeshi, social harmony, family values and national unity.
The RSS chief said the organisation had conducted several programmes over the past year to mark its centenary celebrations. The Vijayadashami gathering marked the conclusion of these year-long activities.
Bhagwat described Panch Parivartan as a vital framework for social renewal, national progress and individual behavioural change. Its key themes include social harmony (samarasata), family awareness (kutumb prabodhan), environmental consciousness, self-awareness (swa-bodh), Swadeshi and civic discipline.
He said people across the world recognised the importance of family awareness, civic discipline and environmental protection, adding that other countries had felt the need for similar initiatives.
Bhagwat stressed that Panch Parivartan was not a one-year programme but a long-term commitment to transforming individual conduct.
“Volunteers must keep in mind, and citizens must also understand, that as a way of life intended to bring transformation in our conduct, it must become a habit through direct action,” he said. His remarks underlined the need to translate these principles into everyday practices to achieve lasting social change.
