PM Narendra Modi will take part in around 14 election-related programmes in West Bengal over the coming month, with his campaign set to begin in Siliguri and conclude with a major roadshow-cum-rally in Bhabanipur, according to party sources.
Siliguri, located in the Darjeeling district, will go to the polls in the first phase on April 23, while Bhabanipur in South Kolkata will vote in the second phase on April 29.
The contest will pit Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee against Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari in a high-profile electoral battle.
Sources said the Prime Minister is likely to address two key programmes in Kolkata—one in North Kolkata and another in South Kolkata.
Bhabanipur has emerged as a focal point of the campaign due to the intense political contest expected there.
The 14 planned engagements will include a mix of public rallies and roadshows aimed at strengthening the party’s outreach ahead of the Assembly elections.
Party leaders believe these events will play a crucial role in energising the cadre and mobilising voter support across key constituencies.
During his previous rally at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata, PM Modi asserted that political change in the state was ‘inevitable’, claiming that public sentiment was shifting in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
In addition to the Prime Minister’s campaign, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will participate in eight programmes.
BJP national president Nitin Nabin will address seven public meetings, while Union Health Minister JP Nadda will address six meetings during the campaign.
