Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday paid tribute to late former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on his birth anniversary, remembering his service to society and significant contribution to the development of Maharashtra. He said Ajit Pawar earned widespread respect across all sections of society through his dedication to public service.
Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Remembering Shri Ajit Pawar Ji on his birth anniversary. His service to society and contribution to Maharashtra’s development were noteworthy. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also hailed Ajit Pawar as a visionary and people-centric leader, saying he made a lasting contribution to Maharashtra’s development.

Born on 22 July 1959 in Ahilyanagar, Ajit Pawar was a former NCP leader and Maharashtra’s longest-serving Deputy Chief Minister, holding the post for over eight years across six terms until his passing in 2026.
