Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended birthday greetings to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, commending his leadership in strengthening India’s infrastructure and advancing technology and innovation in line with the vision of a Viksit Bharat.

In a post on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister said Vaishnaw has been at the forefront of developing key infrastructure that will play a vital role in building a developed India. He also praised the Union Minister’s efforts to promote future-ready sectors related to technology and innovation, while wishing him a long, healthy and fulfilling life.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also greeted Vaishnaw, highlighting his contribution to modernising the Indian Railways and accelerating the country’s information technology sector.

In his message on X, Shah said Vaishnaw’s tireless efforts were helping realise Prime Minister Modi’s vision of seamless transport and a digitally empowered India. He wished his Cabinet colleague good health and a long life.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also conveyed his birthday greetings, praying for Vaishnaw’s excellent health, longevity and continued success.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath joined other leaders in extending his wishes, describing Vaishnaw as an energetic and widely respected leader. He praised the Union Minister’s leadership in the fields of railways, telecommunications and information technology, stating that India continues to achieve new milestones under his guidance.

CM Yogi also prayed to Lord Jagannath for Vaishnaw’s good health and a long and distinguished life.

Career and Key Responsibilities

Born on 18 July 1970, Ashwini Vaishnaw is a former IAS officer and entrepreneur serving as Union Minister for Railways, Information and Broadcasting, and Electronics and Information Technology since 2024.

A Rajya Sabha member from Odisha since 2019, he has led several initiatives in railway modernisation, digital infrastructure, telecommunications and technology-driven development.
