PM Modi Extends Best Wishes To Skyroot Aerospace Ahead Of Vikram-1 Launch

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended his best wishes to Skyroot Aerospace ahead of the launch of Vikram-1, India’s first privately developed orbital launch vehicle, describing the mission as a historic milestone in the country’s space journey and a testament to the growing strength of its private space sector.

In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said the maiden launch of Vikram-1 marks a new frontier for India’s space ambitions.

PM Modi further noted that the four-stage rocket has been designed to provide rapid and on-demand launch services, highlighting the talent, determination and entrepreneurial spirit of India’s youth. He added that the mission reflects the success of the government’s space sector reforms, which have created new opportunities for innovation, enterprise and private participation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the Skyroot Aerospace team success and said he hoped Vikram-1 would create history and inspire a new generation of innovators. He also urged Indians, especially young people, to follow the mission and support Team Skyroot using #IndiaWithVikram1.

Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace will launch Mission Aagaman, India’s first privately developed orbital rocket, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota at 11:30 AM.

Mission Aagaman will strengthen India’s commercial space sector and mark its entry into the global private orbital launch market. It follows Skyroot’s successful Vikram-S suborbital mission in 2022.

Prime Minister Modi’s handwritten ‘Vande Mataram’ postcard will also travel aboard Vikram-1 alongside messages from Skyroot employees, investors, policymakers and supporters.

The company said these keepsakes symbolise the collective aspirations and growing confidence in India’s emerging private space ecosystem.
