PM Modi Increased Funds For Uttarakhand By 4.5 Times Compared To UPA: HM Amit Shah

Union HM Amit Shah on Saturday asserted that the PM Narendra Modi’s government has allocated 4.5 times more funds to Uttarakhand over the past decade than the UPA government did during its 2004–2014 tenure.

HM Shah made the remarks while addressing the ‘Uttarakhand Nivesh Utsav’ in Rudrapur, located in Udham Singh Nagar district.

PM Modi Government Gave Rs 1.86 Lakh Crore in 10 Years

HM Amit Shah revealed that the Modi government has provided Rs 1.86 lakh crore to Uttarakhand in the form of tax devolution and grant-in-aid. In contrast, the Congress-led UPA allocated only Rs 53,000 crore during its decade-long rule.

He further added that the Centre gave the state Rs 31,000 crore for roads, Rs 40,000 crore for railways, and Rs 100 crore for airports, raising the total financial support to 4.5 times the previous amount.

HM Amit Shah Targets Congress Over Development, Opposition

Taking a direct dig at the Opposition, HM Shah responded to social media posts questioning the Centre’s contributions to Uttarakhand.

“I am presenting these numbers to silence the Congress leaders who asked what the Centre has done,” HM Shah said.

He urged Congress leaders to support the state’s development instead of creating obstacles, warning them that continued obstruction would further reduce their political presence in Uttarakhand.

Home Minister Shah credited Atal Bihari Vajpayee for creating the state of Uttarakhand and praised PM Modi for nurturing it through development-focused governance.

Referring to the Char Dham all-weather road project, he noted Modi’s commitment despite opposition from activists and legal challenges.

“PM Modi ensured top lawyers defended the project in court so development wouldn’t stall,” he said.

Highlighting the state’s industrial growth, HM Shah said ancillary industries are expected to create another 2.5 lakh jobs, adding to the over 81,000 jobs already generated.

He applauded CM Pushkar Singh Dhami for promoting Dev Bhoomi through transparent governance, investor-friendly policies, and balanced growth between economy and ecology.

He also outlined a four-pronged development strategy centred on Yoga, Ayurveda, natural healing, and organic farming.

The event showcased the progress made since the Global Investors Summit held in December 2023, where investors signed 1,779 MoUs worth Rs 3.5 lakh crore. Authorities have already implemented projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore.

Home Minister Amit Shah remotely inaugurated and laid foundation stones for welfare schemes worth Rs 1,342 crore.

CM Dhami: Uttarakhand is Investment-Ready

CM Dhami credited PM Modi for attracting large-scale investment and outlined new reforms, including a single-window system, 30 new industrial policies, and venture capital worth Rs 200 crore for startups.

“Uttarakhand has become a business-friendly state with simplified regulations and strong institutional support,” Dhami said.

The event drew industrialists, dignitaries, and policymakers, highlighting Uttarakhand’s emergence as a key investment destination.
