Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) 2026 for the Saurashtra and Kutch region in Rajkot. He described the vision of ‘Viksit Gujarat to Viksit Bharat’ as a powerful call for action.
Prime Minister Modi addressed leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators at Marwadi University. He highlighted Gujarat’s regional strengths. He positioned these strengths as the driving force behind India’s national development story.
PM Modi launched the conference alongside a five-day business exhibition that reflected the theme ‘Regional Aspirations with Global Ambition.’
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, State Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi, Chief Secretary M K Das, and senior officials joined PM Modi.
Their presence highlighted Gujarat’s unified push for industrial growth and global competitiveness.
After the inauguration, PM Modi toured the expansive 18,000-square-metre exhibition, closely examining the technological and industrial capabilities on display.
At the Enterprise Excellence Pavilion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed key contributions. He examined presentations from major players, including Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Essar, Nyara Energy, and Jyoti C N C.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged their role in strengthening India’s industrial ecosystem.
He praised these organisations for strengthening India’s manufacturing base and reinforcing economic self-reliance.
Regional Strength & Global Ambition
PM Modi also spent time at the ‘Ocean of Opportunities’ Pavilion, which showcased the immense potential of the Saurashtra and Kutch coastline.
He reviewed presentations by the Gujarat Maritime Board on the blue economy. He interacted with innovators and highlighted clean energy and maritime technologies.
Prime Minister Modi emphasised that sustainability-driven coastal development can become a decisive growth engine for India.
The Prime Minister paid special attention to the MSME Pavilion curated under the theme ‘Har Ghar Swadeshi.’
He interacted with rural artisans, examined traditional handicrafts, and encouraged small entrepreneurs who form the backbone of local economies.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recorded his appreciation in the visitor’s book, reaffirming his commitment to inclusive growth that uplifts grassroots industries.
Scheduled to continue until January 15, the VGRC 2026 exhibition aims to inspire students, investors, and citizens alike.
PM Modi said such platforms accelerate innovation, attract investment, and energise youth participation, thereby advancing the national mission of ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047.’
By anchoring national ambition in regional capability, PM Modi made it clear that Gujarat’s progress will remain central to India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation.
