Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) during a campaign rally in Arrah on Sunday, accusing the two opposition parties of internal strife and hypocrisy ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
Addressing a large gathering, the Prime Minister alleged that the Congress and the RJD have created deep divisions over projecting their chief ministerial candidate.
“Congress was unwilling to hand over the chief ministerial post to the RJD. In their closed-door meeting, RJD leaders even threatened Congress representatives to force an agreement,” PM Modi claimed.
He added that the alliance’s internal discord had reached a level where both parties were struggling to coordinate on campaign strategy or manifesto commitments.
Reiterating his long-standing criticism of the RJD’s previous rule, PM Modi said Bihar must not return to the days of ‘Jungle Raj’, which he described as a time of fear, corruption, and criminal dominance.
He said that country-made guns, cruelty, and misgovernance defined that era, and he cited a 2004 case in which criminals allegedly kidnapped a government doctor in Tarari.
The Prime Minister also accused Congress of rewarding those responsible for the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. “November 1-2, 1984, Congress leaders orchestrated the Sikh massacre. Even today, the party glorifies the perpetrators and shows no remorse,” he said.
Highlighting his government’s stance on terrorism, PM Modi referred to Operation Sindoor, asserting that India has demonstrated its determination to strike back. “We go inside terrorist hideouts and eliminate them. Pakistan trembled, but Congress and RJD were uncomfortable,” he remarked.
He also mentioned the abrogation of Article 370, calling it a ‘fulfilled guarantee’ that restored full constitutional rights to Jammu and Kashmir.
On Bihar’s development, PM Modi said the NDA’s manifesto focuses on creating one crore jobs, promoting Make in India manufacturing, and empowering local industries. He announced an additional ₹3,000 annual assistance for small farmers under the PM-Kisan scheme. He also highlighted the Bihar Milk Mission as a major boost for livestock farmers.
“Our goal is for Bihar’s youth to find opportunities within the state and bring pride to it,” he concluded.
