PM Modi Highlights Role Of Science & Innovation In Building A ‘Viksit Bharat’

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of science and innovation in shaping a Viksit Bharat on the occasion of National Science Day.

National Science Day is observed annually on 28 February. It commemorates the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’ by physicist Sir CV Raman. He made this discovery while working at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science in Kolkata. This groundbreaking discovery earned him the Nobel Prize in 1930.

The Prime Minister shared a video paying tribute to CV Raman. In the video, he further highlighted the significance of science. Additionally, he emphasized its role in the growth of various sectors and states.

PM Modi remarked, “Curiosity is the mother of science… and every mind gets attracted to science.”

“During this month’s #MannKiBaat, had talked about ‘One Day as a Scientist’…where the youth take part in some or the other scientific activity,” the Prime Minister further added.

This year’s National Science Day theme is ‘Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat’. It aligns with PM Modi’s vision of fostering youth-led innovation. The theme highlights India’s goal of becoming a global leader in science and technology.

Let us reaffirm our commitment to harnessing science for an Aatmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat.”

“India’s journey toward self-reliance will driven by cutting-edge research and indigenous technological advancements. NEP 2020 is nurturing a generation of learners that embraces the spirit of discovery, thinks critically, innovates fearlessly and leads transformative change,” he further added.
