PM Modi Highlights Rise Of India’s ‘Orange Economy’ Driven By Digital India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday highlighted how Digital India has empowered creators and propelled the unprecedented rise of the ‘Orange Economy’, encompassing culture, content, and creativity.

Addressing participants at the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026, he said India has emerged as a global hub for media, film, gaming, music, and digital talent.

“India is witnessing rapid growth across creative and technology-driven sectors, fueled largely by young innovators and entrepreneurs,” PM Modi emphasised.

He pointed to the explosive growth of startups, noting that over a thousand defence startups are now active in India, reflecting the country’s thriving innovation ecosystem.

The Prime Minister cited youth-led technological advancements, including drones, anti-drone systems, AI-enabled cameras, and robotics, as examples of India’s expanding tech and innovation landscape.

“Our young entrepreneurs are pushing boundaries across multiple industries, demonstrating ingenuity and determination,” he said.

PM Modi also underscored the transformation of India’s space sector. Five to six years ago, ISRO alone managed the nation’s space initiatives.

The government then opened the sector to private enterprises, expanded supportive policies, and established enabling institutions.

This strategic shift has accelerated innovation and collaboration within the space ecosystem. He highlighted the unprecedented scale of youth participation in nation-building initiatives.

Over 50 lakh young people registered for the Viksit Bharat Challenge, and more than 30 lakh shared their ideas.

The Prime Minister showcased the energy, creativity, and engagement of India’s younger generation.

According to PM Modi, the combination of Digital India, startup growth, and youth involvement is reshaping India’s future.

He stated that our creative economy, driven by culture, content, and innovation, is generating opportunities domestically. He added that it is positioning India as a global leader in emerging sectors.

The Prime Minister emphasised that India’s Orange Economy, powered by digital infrastructure and youth innovation, is stimulating economic growth.

He added that it is also fostering global recognition for Indian talent and creativity.
