PM Modi Hails “Special Bond” Between India And France While Presenting Joint Statement With President Macron

.“The special bond between India and France is evident today…” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He along with the French President – Emmanuel Macron came up in front of the public to issue joint statement. They came up after long-drawn discussions about various matters in common. PM Modi also praised the host nation for the ‘red carpet’ welcome that he received. The discussions, which deepened connections between the two nations, were a part of PM Modi’s trip to France and covered a wide range of subjects, such as long-term visas, university collaborations, and the COVID-19 pandemic’s effects.

“We see France as a natural partner…” said PM Modi

“The special bond between India and France is evident today. We see France as a natural partner in our journey towards progress. The roadmap we are preparing for the next 25 years is a testament to this growing partnership,” PM Modi declared.

Salient points of the Modi-Macron joint statement

The Prime Minister asked French institutions to establish campuses in India and appreciated the recently introduced long-term visas for Indians in France. According to him, these tactical moves are intended to strengthen the cultural and educational links between the two countries.

PM Modi emphasised the importance of this collaboration during the combined flypast by Indian Rafale planes and French jets during the Bastille Day show. He emphasised the growing military relations by saying, “We saw our Rafale jets take part in the flypast, and our naval ships were at French ports.”

The importance of fostering cooperation in industries including renewable energy, artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and digital technology was acknowledged by PM Modi and Mr. Macron.

“New ways are being identified to increase cooperation in these areas,” PM Modi said. He also stressed the need to work towards the democratization of technology supply chains.

India and France have a special responsibility to ensure peace

PM Modi remarked, “India and France have a special responsibility to ensure peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.” He said the same in a covert reference to a more assertive China. He insisted that conversation and diplomacy should be used to settle all disputes.

The Prime Minister welcomed the growth of startups and innovation between the two countries. He further urged for strict measures to combat cross-border terrorism.

The strategic alliance between India and France, has been strengthened as a result of this visit. The presence of PM Modi in Bastille Day celebrations and his subsequent meetings with Macron open up new channels for collaboration and a promising future for both parties.
