Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday extended birthday greetings to Omar Abdullah, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, wishing him a long life and good health.
Taking to the social media platform X, the Prime Minister conveyed his wishes to the National Conference leader on the occasion.
“Greetings to Jammu and Kashmir CM Shri Omar Abdullah Ji on his birthday. May he be blessed with a long life and wonderful health,” PM Modi wrote.

Born on March 10, 1970, in Rochford, Essex, England, Omar Abdullah comes from one of the most influential political families in Jammu and Kashmir.
His grandfather, Sheikh Abdullah, known as the ‘Lion of Kashmir’, founded the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference in 1939 and shaped the region’s political landscape.
His father, Farooq Abdullah, also served several terms as Chief Minister.
CM Abdullah studied at Burn Hall School in Srinagar and later at the Lawrence School in Sanawar, Himachal Pradesh.
He completed a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Sydenham College in Mumbai and later earned a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland.
He entered politics early and won the Lok Sabha election from Srinagar in 1998, becoming one of the youngest MPs.
CM Abdullah later served in the government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee as Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and later for External Affairs.
In October 2024, he took the oath as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
