Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended warm greetings to the personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on the occasion of its Raising Day, praising the force for its commitment, professionalism, and patriotic service to the nation.
Observed annually on March 10, Central Industrial Security Force Raising Day marks the force’s establishment in 1969.
The occasion recognises the crucial role of CISF personnel in safeguarding India’s critical infrastructure, including airports, Metro networks, public sector undertakings, and other strategic installations.
In a post on the social media platform X, the Home Minister acknowledged the dedication of the force in performing demanding security duties in various parts of the country.
“Greetings to the CISF personnel on Raising Day. Whether safeguarding the nation’s vital installations or shielding the nation during crises, their dedication reflects the true spirit of patriotism and professionalism. Tributes to martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice for the country,” Shah wrote.

Marking the occasion, the Central Industrial Security Force extended greetings to its personnel and reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s critical infrastructure.
“For 57 years, the Central Industrial Security Force has stood as the sentinel of India’s vital assets with vigilance, discipline, and professionalism,” the force said, reiterating its motto: “Protection and Security. Nation First. Always.”
Established on March 10, 1969, the CISF initially protected Central Government industries but later expanded its role to secure joint-venture enterprises and other key facilities. The force functions under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The need for such a specialised force became evident after the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, when vital installations faced serious security threats.
Today, the CISF protects major infrastructure across India, including airports, seaports, Metro networks, and industrial establishments.
