PM Modi, Amit Shah Extend Birthday Greetings To Former President Ram Nath Kovind

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended birthday greetings to former President Ram Nath Kovind, praising his long public life and commitment to India’s development, constitutional values and public welfare.

In a post on X, PM Modi said Kovind had served the nation with passion and simplicity, earning respect across different sections of society. He wished the former President good health, happiness and a long life.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also greeted Kovind on his birthday, highlighting his journey from an ordinary family to the country’s highest constitutional office.

In his post on X, Shah described Kovind’s dedication to the welfare of the underprivileged and his constitutional responsibilities as inspirational. He also wished him a healthy and long life.

Kovind was born on October 1, 1945, in Paraunkh village in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur Dehat district. He joined the BJP in 1991 and later served as its Dalit Morcha chief from 1998 to 2002. He further served as president of the All-India Koli Samaj.

Kovind entered the Rajya Sabha in 1994 and completed two terms before becoming Bihar Governor. He went on to serve as India’s 14th President from 2017 to 2022.

In August, PM Modi released Kovind’s autobiography, Triumph of the Indian Republic: My Life, My Struggles, at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.

The book covers his journey from his early years to his service as a parliamentarian, Governor and President, while reflecting on his experiences and contributions to public life.
