HM Amit Shah’s Bhopal Visit To Highlight MP Dairy Economy; Farmer Welfare Initiatives

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah’s Bhopal visit will focus on Madhya Pradesh’s dairy and livestock economy, with over 35,000 cattle rearers and dairy cooperative members expected at the state-level Gopalak Conference.

Shah will reach Bhopal around 9 PM on October 2 and stay overnight. His October 3 schedule includes programmes on farmers, livestock, cooperation, new criminal laws, higher education and road infrastructure.

The Gopalak Conference will form the centrepiece of his visit. Participants will come from Bhopal and Sehore, Betul, Rajgarh, Harda, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shajapur, Vidisha, Raisen and Narmadapuram.

Shah will distribute bonuses to livestock rearers linked with the Bhopal and Indore milk unions. He will provide financial assistance to gaushalas and honour Gopalak Didis.

Officials will distribute approval letters under the Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Scheme. They will brief him on initiatives launched during the state’s Year of Farmer Welfare and Balram Agriculture Festival.

The Home, Animal Husbandry and Dairy, Cooperation, Public Works and Transport departments will make presentations.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reviewed preparations on Monday and instructed officials to ensure proper seating, drinking water, sanitation, security and traffic arrangements.

The visit will highlight cooperative institutions and dairy infrastructure as key drivers of agriculture and rural livelihoods.

Proposals include a Rs 255-crore dairy plant in Ujjain. Bhopal is set to get a Rs 16.80-crore facility for formulated and fermented milk products at the Bhopal Milk Union premises. It will raise processing capacity for curd, buttermilk, lassi, shrikhand and mawa.

The farmer-focused programme comes as Madhya Pradesh expands its Farmer ID system.
