
On 26 May 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his sincere gratitude to the people of Vadodara after a spectacular roadshow that saw thousands line the streets in his home state.
The crowd welcomed him with thunderous chants of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, ‘Modi-Modi’, and ‘Vande Mataram’, during the vibrant ‘Sindoor Samman Yatra’ held to honour India’s recent military triumphs.
PM Modi posted on X, “Thank you Vadodara! Extremely delighted to be in this great city. It was a splendid roadshow and that too in the morning! Gratitude to all those who showered their blessings.”

The roadshow was PM Modi’s first visit to Gujarat since India’s strikes on terror bases in Pakistan and PoK.
As he waved to cheering crowds, chants of ‘We have won’ rang out, with many capturing the moment on their phones.
Participants paid tribute to the Indian Armed Forces and PM Modi’s leadership by donning military-themed costumes that symbolised pride in ‘Operation Sindoor’.
Members of the African community in Vadodara welcomed the Prime Minister with placards that read, ‘Peace was attacked; India roared back with justice’ and ‘India’s courage is the light that ends the evil of terrorism’.
Launch Of Development Projects
Alongside the warm welcome, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation for development projects totalling ₹82,000 crore.
Later, in Dahod, he will inaugurate the Loco Manufacturing Shop-Rolling Stock Workshop and address a public gathering at Kharod.
Additional government and railway projects worth ₹24,000 crore will also be launched.
He will flag off two trains from Dahod via video conference: the Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat Express, which will run six days a week connecting Sabarmati to Veraval near the Somnath temple, and the Valsad-Dahod Express, a daily service covering 346 km with 17 coaches.
PM Modi will also inaugurate a railway production unit in Dahod, developed under the ‘Make in India’ initiative at a cost exceeding ₹21,000 crore.
He will flag off an electric locomotive manufactured at this facility, showcasing India’s growing railway manufacturing capabilities.
The Prime Minister will then travel to Bhuj to launch infrastructure projects worth over ₹53,400 crore, focusing on Kandla Port, solar energy, power transmission, and road improvements.
The Prime Minister will also unveil four drinking water supply schemes worth ₹181 crore to benefit 4.62 lakh people across 193 villages and one town in the Mahisagar and Dahod districts.
Upcoming Gandhinagar Events
On the morning of 27 May, at 10:30 AM, PM Modi will hold another roadshow in Gandhinagar, expected to attract over 30,000 BJP workers.
Following this, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation for projects valued at ₹5,536 crore at Mahatma Mandir.
Key projects include the inauguration of 22,055 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, built at a cost of ₹1,006 crore, and the foundation stone for Phase 3 of the Sabarmati Riverfront, estimated at ₹1,000 crore.
PM Modi will also distribute cheques worth ₹3,300 crore to urban local bodies under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana, designed to boost urban development throughout Gujarat.
