Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, who arrived in Nagpur on Sunday night, will participate in a series of important events across Nagpur and Nanded on 26 May 2025.
Shah received a warm welcome from BJP leaders, including Fadnavis, upon his arrival.

The day will begin with the bhoomipujan (foundation stone laying ceremony) of ‘Swasti Niwas’ at the National Cancer Institute in Jamtha, Nagpur.
This project aims to enhance healthcare facilities and infrastructure in the region.
Following this, Shah will perform the bhoomipujan for the permanent campus and conduct the e-inauguration of the temporary campus of the National Forensic Science University located in Kamthi, further bolstering the city’s educational and scientific capabilities.

Honouring Regional Leaders In Nanded
Later, Amit Shah will travel to Nanded, where he will inaugurate a full-length statue of the late Vasantrao Naik, a former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, along with the beautification of the surrounding premises in Anand Nagar.
This act will serve as a tribute to the late leader’s legacy and his contributions to the state.
The BJP Shankhnad grand public rally at Nava Mondha Ground, Nanded, will also see the Minister’s participation, bringing together party supporters and local residents for this significant gathering.
Shah will conclude the day by inaugurating the new BJP city office in Shivajinagar, Nanded, signalling the party’s strengthened organisational presence in the region.
Upcoming West Bengal Visit & Election Preparations
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit West Bengal on 1 June 2025.
His itinerary will include participation in a major central government event in Kolkata, expected to highlight key governmental initiatives aimed at regional development.
Sources within the BJP have revealed that Shah will also hold meetings with the party’s core committee members and elected MLAs during this visit.
Party leaders will strengthen unity and formulate strategies for pressing political matters, particularly preparing for the upcoming Bengal Assembly elections due next year.
A BJP insider noted, “There could be discussions on preparations for the upcoming assembly elections in the state,” reflecting the party’s commitment to an early and robust campaign across West Bengal.
Amit Shah’s engagements in Nagpur and Nanded demonstrate a blend of developmental focus, political mobilisation, and respect for Maharashtra’s political heritage.
With the Bengal elections on the horizon, his forthcoming visit to Kolkata will be pivotal in consolidating the party’s electoral strategy and reinforcing its organisational framework in the state.
