Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Vadodara, Gujarat, on 26 May to a spectacular welcome, with thousands lining the streets to greet him.

The air reverberated with chants of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, ‘Modi-Modi’, and ‘Vande Mataram’, as crowds participated in a special ‘Sindoor Samman Yatra’.

Participants waved the national flag and showered the Prime Minister with flowers in tribute to his leadership, especially recognising his role during ‘Operation Sindoor’.

Many attendees wore costumes honouring the Indian Armed Forces and paid homage to PM Modi’s leadership in recent military actions targeting terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The Prime Minister’s first visit to Gujarat since ‘Operation Sindoor’ drew loud cheers of ‘We have won’, as enthusiastic onlookers captured the historic moment on their phones.

African community members actively joined the celebrations, holding placards that proclaimed ‘Peace was attacked; India roared back with justice’ and ‘India’s courage is the light that ends the evil of terrorism’, expressing global admiration for India’s resolve.

Development Projects & Rail Initiatives

The visit included the inauguration and foundation laying of numerous development projects valued at ₹82,000 crore across Gujarat.

Later in the day, PM Modi will proceed to Dahod, where he will inaugurate the Loco Manufacturing Shop-Rolling Stock Workshop and address a public gathering in Kharod.

He will lay the foundation for several government and railway projects worth ₹24,000 crore.

From Dahod, two new trains will be flagged off via video conference.

The Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat Express will operate six days a week, connecting Sabarmati with Veraval near the Somnath temple.

Meanwhile, PM Modi will also launch the Valsad-Dahod Express, a daily train covering 346 km with 17 coaches.

Further enhancing the region’s railway infrastructure, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a railway production unit in Dahod, developed at a cost of over ₹21,000 crore under the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

PM Modi will also flag off an electric locomotive from this manufacturing plant.

Expanding Growth In Bhuj & Urban Development

PM Modi’s tour will continue in Bhuj, where he will launch development projects worth over ₹53,400 crore, spanning Kandla Port, solar energy, power transmission, and road infrastructure.

He will also unveil four drinking water schemes costing ₹181 crore, benefiting 4.62 lakh people across 193 villages and one town in the Mahisagar and Dahod districts.

PM Modi will lead a massive roadshow in Gandhinagar on 27 May at 10:30 AM, with over 30,000 BJP workers expected to join him.

Following this, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundations for projects valued at ₹5,536 crore at the Mahatma Mandir.

Among these projects, the Prime Minister will inaugurate 22,055 houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, costing ₹1,006 crore.

PM Modi will also lay the foundation for Phase 3 of the Sabarmati Riverfront, a project estimated at ₹1,000 crore.

In a bid to strengthen urban development, PM Modi will distribute cheques worth ₹3,300 crore to urban local bodies under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana, further boosting infrastructure and quality of life across Gujarat.

PM Modi’s visit to Vadodara and surrounding areas highlights a commitment to infrastructure, development, and national pride, reflecting the government’s continued focus on economic growth and regional empowerment.
