Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday departed on a three-nation visit to Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand, stating that the tour will strengthen India’s Act East Policy, MAHASAGAR Vision and commitment to a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific while deepening strategic and economic partnerships with the three countries.
The Prime Minister will visit Indonesia from July 6 to 8 at the invitation of President Prabowo Subianto. In his departure statement, PM Modi said the visit marks his first bilateral trip to Indonesia since both countries elevated their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2018.

The visit also follows President Prabowo’s State visit to India as the Chief Guest at the Republic Day celebrations in January 2025.
Highlighting the long-standing civilisational and cultural links between the two nations, PM Modi said the visit would further strengthen their multifaceted partnership.
During his Indonesia visit, PM Modi will meet the Indian diaspora and visit the Prambanan Temple with President Prabowo.
He will then travel to Australia for talks with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on defence, trade, technology and people-to-people ties, besides interacting with the Indian community.
The final leg will take him to New Zealand for discussions with Prime Minister Christopher Luxon on trade and economic cooperation.
