PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, that targeted a group of tourists.
He extended his condolences to the bereaved families and assured that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
PM Modi Directs Strong Action Against Terrorism
In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “I strongly condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover at the earliest. All possible assistance is being provided to those affected.”
He further assured, “Those behind this heinous act will be brought to justice… they will not be spared! Their evil agenda will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable, and it will get even stronger.”

Amit Shah Vows Harsh Consequences For Perpetrators
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also condemned the attack and announced his visit to Srinagar for a high-level security review.
In his post on X, Shah stated, “Anguished by the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. My thoughts are with the family members of the deceased. Those involved in this dastardly act of terror will not be spared, and we will come down heavily on the perpetrators with the harshest consequences.”

He added that he had briefed Prime Minister Modi and held a virtual meeting with senior officials before departing for Srinagar.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Expresses Grief
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also reacted to the incident, calling it cowardly and deeply disturbing.
“This dastardly attack on innocent civilians is an act of cowardice and highly reprehensible. My thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families,” he said.
Meanwhile, the leaders from various political parties condemned the attack, describing it as a blow to peace and Kashmir’s tourism sector.
Many highlighted the potential impact on the region’s fragile economic recovery and demanded stringent action.
