PM Modi Commends Nitin Nabin’s Modest Life As BJP And AAP Exchange Sharp Barbs

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has publicly lauded BJP National President Nitin Nabin for his modest upbringing and simple way of life, saying these qualities are a source of pride for every BJP worker.

The Prime Minister shared a social media post by a veteran journalist, who studied and lived with Nabin during their college years in Delhi.

The journalist revealed that he first met Nabin in 1998 when both arrived in Delhi after completing their Class 12 education.

Although Nabin was the son of a serving Bihar legislator, he never used his family’s political influence or expected preferential treatment.

He recalled that they lived together in a small rented room, travelled exclusively by Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses and frequently shared low-cost meals to keep expenses under control.

Managing on a monthly budget of nearly ₹2,000, Nabin also took part in daily household chores such as preparing breakfast, washing dishes, and cleaning their shared accommodation in Patparganj.

The journalist described Nabin as disciplined, approachable, and free from any sense of entitlement despite his political background.

The Prime Minister’s endorsement came as political exchanges between the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) grew increasingly bitter.

Addressing a BJP event in Lucknow, Nitin Nabin accused Opposition leaders Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav and Arvind Kejriwal of attempting to mislead people on issues related to the Hindu faith.

Kejriwal responded with a dismissive ‘Who are you?’, setting off another round of verbal sparring between the two parties.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta strongly defended Nabin, outlining his rise from a BJP Yuva Morcha activist to becoming the youngest national president of the party and a Rajya Sabha member.
