
On World Liver Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged citizens to adopt healthier eating habits and embrace a lifestyle focused on overall well-being.
Speaking on Saturday, PM Modi emphasised that even small dietary changes, such as reducing the use of cooking oil, can significantly improve health.
The Prime Minister made these remarks while responding to a post by Union Health Minister JP Nadda on social media.
Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Commendable effort to mark #WorldLiverDay with a call for mindful eating and healthier living. Small steps like reducing oil intake can make a big difference. Together, let’s build a fitter, healthier India by raising awareness about obesity.”

Earlier in the day, JP Nadda had urged the public to commit to lowering their edible oil consumption by at least 10% and to pursue a healthier routine.
“This #WorldLiverDay, take a pledge to reduce your edible oil intake by at least 10% and embrace a healthier lifestyle. Small changes can lead to big results when we treat food as medicine. In response to Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji’s call, let’s also pledge to raise awareness about obesity and its growing impact on our society. Together, let’s work towards a future where healthier living is the norm, starting with the food we eat,” Nadda posted on X.

Medical experts highlight that the liver has an extraordinary capacity to regenerate, and even long-term damage can be reversed through proper dietary habits.
A balanced intake of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins can both prevent liver issues and support recovery.
PM Modi Continues Fight Against Obesity
PM Modi also recently reiterated his commitment to combating obesity and promoting fitness, urging Indians to commit to a life free from lifestyle-related diseases.
The Prime Minister stressed that reducing oil in everyday meals is not only a personal health choice but a shared responsibility.
“I want to take a promise from you today that we all should reduce our cooking oil use by 10%. This will be a big step towards reducing obesity,” PM Modi urged.
The Prime Minister continues to be vocal in his campaign against obesity and health disorders tied to poor lifestyle choices.
