Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed at Pahadpur in Mayurbhanj district on Saturday as part of his scheduled visit to Odisha.
Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, members of the state Cabinet, and senior officials welcomed him upon his arrival.
Residents from nearby areas lined the roads and assembled near the helipad to greet the Prime Minister as his convoy travelled through the region amid heightened security arrangements.
PM Modi joined President Droupadi Murmu, who was already present in Pahadpur, a village closely associated with her family.
The leaders planned to pay their respects at the revered Santhali Jahera and Ho Jahera sacred sites before visiting local institutions dedicated to education and skill training. Their itinerary included a tour of the Skill Centre and the Pahadpur SLS Memorial School, highlighting efforts to expand opportunities for young people in tribal and rural communities.
The Prime Minister later travelled to Rairangpur to participate in a function celebrating two years of the Odisha government.
Held under the banner ‘Vikas ra Dhara, Odisha Sara’, the programme focuses on the state’s developmental achievements and ongoing transformation.
During the event, PM Modi launched and laid foundation stones for a wide range of projects with a combined value exceeding ₹47,600 crore.
The initiatives cover sectors including transport infrastructure, energy, industrial development, drinking water supply, healthcare, education, tourism, and irrigation.
Officials expect these projects to improve public services, strengthen economic activity, generate employment, and enhance connectivity across the state.
The investment package also underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring that development reaches remote tribal regions and benefits communities throughout Odisha.
