Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid homage to Maharana Pratap on his birth anniversary, calling him an enduring symbol of courage and national pride.
The Prime Minister stated that Maharana Pratap’s unwavering commitment to the motherland continues to inspire generations.
In his message on social media platform X, PM Modi praised the legendary warrior’s bravery in defending the country’s honour.
He said that Maharana Pratap’s life, dedicated to the nation, would forever remain a guiding light for all Indians.
Senior BJP leaders across India also remembered the Mewar ruler’s valour.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma described Maharana Pratap as the ‘powerful roar of Indian self-respect’ and a ‘Veer Shiromani’ who symbolised sacrifice and patriotism.
“Your sacrificial life will continue to inspire all of us to serve the nation for ages to come,” Sharma wrote on X.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also paid heartfelt tribute, referring to Maharana Pratap as the ‘eternal voice of independence’ and the ‘bright flag of sacrifice’.

He hailed the warrior’s democratic values and unwavering resolve to protect religion, country, and dignity.
CM Adityanath has previously criticised what he termed as historical distortion during the Congress era, alleging that Maharana Pratap’s heroism was downplayed in favour of Mughal emperor Akbar.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reiterated Maharana Pratap’s global influence.
He said the warrior had become a symbol of resistance for freedom fighters and even inspired Vietnamese people during their struggle against the United States in the Vietnam War.
“Maharana Pratap’s name evoked strong emotions of love and sacrifice for the motherland,” Singh had stated in an earlier address.
Maharana Pratap, born on 9 May 1540, ruled the kingdom of Mewar in present-day Rajasthan.
He is best remembered for his heroic resistance against Mughal emperor Akbar, particularly during the Battle of Haldighati in 1576.
As the nation marked his birth anniversary, political leaders and citizens alike honoured the memory of a ruler who placed duty above comfort and sacrifice above surrender.
