Many people consider the festival highly auspicious for starting new ventures, purchasing gold, and performing religious rituals.
Traditionally, devotees further mark the day by buying gold — a symbol of wealth and security — to invite blessings for enduring success and abundance.

In addition to its association with wealth and new beginnings, Akshaya Tritiya holds deep religious significance.
Devotees believe that any charitable act or ritual performed on this day yields lifelong spiritual benefits.
The day also coincides with Parashurama Jayanti, commemorating the birth of Lord Vishnu’s sixth incarnation, Parashurama.
Devotees further offer prayers not only to Lord Vishnu but also to Lord Shiva, adding to the spiritual richness of the occasion.
As families across India observe this sacred day, national leaders have used the opportunity to reflect on shared cultural values and inspire progress toward a more prosperous future.
