PM Modi Acknowledges Netanyahu’s Warm Remarks Ahead Of Israel Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has warmly acknowledged remarks made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a cabinet meeting in Jerusalem, where Netanyahu described Modi as a dear friend and termed his upcoming visit a milestone in bilateral relations.

Responding on X, PM Modi expressed gratitude and said India deeply values its enduring friendship with Israel. He described the partnership as one built on trust, innovation, and a shared commitment to peace and progress. PM Modi also said he looks forward to meaningful discussions during his two-day visit starting February 25, 2026.

Netanyahu, addressing his cabinet and later sharing his remarks online, called Modi’s arrival a historic moment that reflects the strength of the India-Israel partnership.

The Israeli prime minister outlined a vision to build a broader axis of nations in the Middle East, bringing together like-minded countries united against radical forces and committed to stability, security, and technological advancement. He highlighted his personal rapport with Modi, noting their frequent exchanges and mutual visits.

Expanding Strategic Cooperation

The visit’s agenda underscores deepening cooperation. PM Modi is scheduled to address the Knesset, join Netanyahu at Yad Vashem, and attend a high-tech innovation event focused on artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and emerging technologies.

This will be PM Modi’s second visit to Israel after his 2017 trip, which opened new avenues in defence, agriculture, and water management. Netanyahu’s 2018 visit to India further strengthened ties, and the upcoming engagement is expected to expand cooperation in trade, cybersecurity, and regional security.

Amid ongoing Middle East tensions, the visit signals growing convergence between the two countries on counter-terrorism and defence, despite some procedural concerns raised by opposition voices in Israel over the Knesset address.
