PM Modi Accuses RJD Of ‘Forcing’ Congress To Accept Tejashwi As CM Face; Revives ‘Jungle Raj’ Jibe

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched a fierce attack on the Mahagathbandhan (RJD-Congress-Left) during a rally in Bihar’s Arrah, accusing the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of coercing the Congress into declaring Tejashwi Yadav as the alliance’s chief ministerial candidate.

Addressing a large gathering, PM Modi claimed that disputes between the Congress and the RJD had intensified ahead of the Bihar Assembly polls. He said these disagreements created deep divisions over projecting their chief ministerial candidate.

He alleged that the RJD held a katta (country-made gun) to the Congress’s head to force it into accepting Tejashwi Yadav as the CM face.

“I am revealing a secret about the feud within the Mahagathbandhan,” PM Modi said. “A day before the withdrawal of nominations, intense fighting broke out between the Congress and the RJD. The Congress never wanted Tejashwi’s name to be finalised, but the RJD forced the decision upon them.”

He added that the bitterness between the two parties has grown so severe that ‘they might end up clashing after the elections’.

Feud Overshadows Seat-Sharing Deal

The Prime Minister’s remarks came amid reports of internal discord within the Grand Alliance over seat distribution. Alliance leaders finalised the seat-sharing formula just a day before the withdrawal of nominations, following prolonged negotiations and public spats.

PM Modi said the feud reflected the instability and opportunism within the opposition bloc. “Such people can never do any good for Bihar,” he remarked.

PM Modi drew a sharp contrast between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan. He reiterated his criticism of the RJD’s past governance, describing it as a period of ‘Jungle Raj’.

“The NDA has presented an honest and visionary manifesto for Bihar’s progress,” he said. “Every promise and every scheme is dedicated to the state’s rapid development. On one side is the NDA’s commitment to growth, and on the other is the deceitful agenda of the Jungle Raj parties.”
