People across Bihar’s Kosi, Seemanchal, and neighbouring districts have voiced strong appreciation for the recent development package unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
His announcement of the National Makhana Board, the launch of three premium train services, and the inauguration of Purnea Airport have sparked widespread praise.
Many farmers have welcomed the formation of the National Makhana Board, along with the ₹500 crore scheme to support makhana cultivation.
In districts like Madhubani, Purnea, Sitamarhi, and Darbhanga, cultivators say the board offers hope for better market access, fair pricing, and improved production techniques.
Small farmers particularly expressed relief that they will now receive technical support, grants, and processing aid directly, reducing dependence on middlemen.
Connectivity Projects Earn Warm Appreciation
In addition, residents have praised the launch of three new premium Amrit Bharat Express train services and the opening of Purnea Airport.
Citizens say the upgraded trains, with improved amenities and safer travel, and the airport will make travel easier, help trade flourish, and connect remote areas to major markets.
For many, the infrastructure improvements symbolise long‑awaited progress.
Sudhir Kumar, a farmer from Madhubani, said the Makhana Board has ‘given new energy to cultivators’.
Another farmer, Imitiaz Alam, noted that small producers will benefit the most, as they gain access to loans, modern tools, and branding opportunities. For many, these changes mean not just financial gain but dignity and stability.
Many in the public also remarked that these initiatives reflect PM Modi’s attention to their needs.
People said that when the government sees and acts on longstanding issues, such as a lack of access to markets and poor connectivity, trust grows.
What the People See: Beyond Politics?
While political rivals also acknowledged the announcements, citizens emphasised that the benefits are real and immediate.
For many, the developments are less about politics and more about tangible improvements: households able to transport goods more cheaply, farmers getting fair prices, reduced travel times, and greater opportunity for youth.
The mood in Bihar remains upbeat. The relief and optimism among farmers and ordinary citizens suggest that PM Modi’s package could mark a turning point for these regions.
People hope this focus on agriculture, connectivity, and welfare becomes a pattern, not a one‑off, so that every election period or government effort is measured by what it delivers on the ground.
