There have been numerous assertions that the food provided on Indian Railways trains has improved in quality; however, incidences of insects being discovered inside IRCTC meals continue unabated. In a recent occurrence, a passenger on the opulent Vande Bharat Express train discovered a cockroach that had been rolled in the chapati that was supplied with the dinner.

Pictures revealed a little insect clinging to one of the rotis. The incident highlights how unclean rail kitchens and pantry cars are for cooking.
When a traveler flying from Bhopal to Gwalior posted a picture of the ‘bug’ roti on Twitter, the story gained attention. Numerous people responded to the occurrence and voiced their disgust over it as soon as the image was shared.

IRCTC replies
The IRCTC, however, quickly replied to the tweet and requested the passenger’s PNR number. We did not aim for this terrible experience, the IRCTC’s official Twitter account retorted. The proper steps will be taken to prevent similar events from happening again.
This is not the first time that IRCTC train lunches have been found to include insects. It might be one of the first instances of poor food being served on the Vande Bharat Express, though.

Bhopal’s Rani Kamlapati
In other developments, a man in Bhopal’s Rani Kamlapati Station had to pay 6,000 to use the Vande Bharat Express lavatory during an emergency. The passenger, his wife, and son were on their way to Singrauli in Madhya Pradesh. At the Bhopal station, he and his family were scheduled to change trains.

The station’s main boarder boarded a Vande Bharat Express to use the lavatory because he couldn’t find a close lavatory at the station. But a locked door prevented him from exiting the bathroom.
The passenger was eventually fined $1,020 for boarding the train without a ticket after receiving assistance from the police and ticket takers.
