Parliamentary Proceedings To Continue Amidst Government-Opposition Face-Off

The debate on the Union Budget is set to continue in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha today, with discussions and voting on Jammu and Kashmir’s Budget also on the agenda. This comes after Opposition MPs staged a walkout in the Rajya Sabha and protested against the Budget in the Lok Sabha yesterday, also holding a protest on the premises and raising slogans against the government.

In the Lok Sabha, apart from the Budget discussion, four ministers will lay papers on the table, including K. Rammohan Naidu, Shripad Naik, Shobha Karandlaje, and Tokhan Sahu. Union Minister Ajay Tamta will make a statement on the status of implementation of recommendations related to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Additionally, Minister Manohar Lal will move a motion to elect two members to the Rajghat Samadhi Committee.

In the Rajya Sabha, Minister Sukanta Majumdar will make a statement on the implementation of recommendations related to the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region. The discussion on the Union Budget and Jammu and Kashmir’s Budget will also continue in the Upper House.

The proceedings are expected to be closely watched, given the ongoing face-off between the government and the opposition.
