Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged governments and political parties across the country to collectively tackle paper leaks, saying the issue extends beyond any one state or the Centre.
Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the Prime Minister made the remarks during the NDA Parliamentary Party’s Mangal Milan meeting, stressing that students’ futures must remain the top priority.
Rijiju said the Centre launched prompt action after the NEET paper leak came to light.
Investigating agencies arrested 13 people in connection with the case, while the authorities successfully conducted the re-examination on schedule to ensure students did not face unnecessary disruption.
The Prime Minister also urged the legal community to assist in securing the toughest possible punishment for those involved, saying exemplary penalties would help prevent similar offences in the future.
PM Modi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting students from examination-related irregularities while creating opportunities for young Indians to lead in different sectors globally. He said India’s development agenda must continue to prioritise the aspirations and progress of its youth.
PM Modi commended Skyroot Aerospace for the successful Vikram-1 launch, describing the achievement as a reflection of the innovation and talent of India’s younger generation.
The Prime Minister also reviewed India’s recent progress, including the signing of multiple Free Trade Agreements, which he said would strengthen the economy and create greater opportunities for farmers.
Rijiju said the NDA would coordinate during the ongoing Monsoon Session to facilitate the passage of government bills. He also appealed to Opposition parties to rise above political disagreements and contribute to the smooth functioning of Parliament in the interest of the nation and its youth.
