The Rajasthan government has announced special discounts for soldiers, ‘Gaurav Senanis’, and ‘Veeranganas’ at all hotels and guest houses run by the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC).
This initiative aims to honour the bravery and sacrifice of India’s armed forces and their families.
Soldiers and ‘Gaurav Senanis’ will now receive a 25 per cent discount, while ‘Veeranganas’ (war widows) will be given a 50 per cent discount.
Tourism Department officials confirmed the discounts have been implemented with immediate effect. Beneficiaries can avail of the offer by presenting valid identity cards or official documents.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari described the move as a ‘small but powerful step’ to recognise the sacrifices made by defence personnel.
“This initiative is more than just a financial concession — it is a symbolic gesture to show that the state stands in eternal gratitude to those who protect our borders and to the families who have lost their heroes,” she said.
She added that the double-engine government is fully committed to honouring those who serve the nation.
The timing of this decision follows closely after Operation Sindoor. The Indian Army conducted the operation in response to cross-border terrorism. It involved high-level military action, particularly in the Jaisalmer and Bikaner sectors of Rajasthan.
Officials noted that the initiative reflects growing public unity and respect for the armed forces. It also allows soldiers and their families to explore Rajasthan’s rich culture and heritage.
The government hopes this gesture will deepen emotional ties between the people of Rajasthan and the armed forces community.
