CDS And Army Chief Visit India-Pakistan Border To Boost Troop Morale After Operation Sindoor

In the wake of the successful Operation Sindoor, India’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi visited the India-Pakistan border on Monday to assess the situation and motivate the troops deployed in the region.

CDS General Chauhan’s Visit To Suratgarh Military Station

General Anil Chauhan began his visit at the strategically vital Suratgarh Military Station on the western border.

During his interaction with the soldiers stationed there, the CDS praised their high morale, courage, and professional readiness.

He expressed full confidence in the troops’ ability to confront future threats with swift and decisive action.

The soldiers briefed General Chauhan on the newly deployed air defence systems and advanced technological assets that were successfully utilised during Operation Sindoor.

The CDS also held strategic discussions with senior military commanders and lauded the exemplary bravery displayed by the troops.

He particularly commended the precision and effectiveness with which the soldiers neutralised hostile threats throughout the operation.

General Chauhan highlighted the selfless dedication, unwavering resolve, and operational excellence of the Indian forces, noting that these values uphold the highest traditions of the Indian Army.

He underscored the importance of constant vigilance and preparedness, especially in light of the evolving regional security dynamics.

Army Chief General Dwivedi Visits Longewala Post

Meanwhile, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi arrived at Jaisalmer Airport on Monday and travelled by helicopter to the historic Longewala post, known for its strategic importance and role in Indian military history.

At Longewala, General Dwivedi met with soldiers from the Konark Corps and commended their courage, dedication, and the successful coordination between the Indian Army, Air Force (IAF), and Border Security Force (BSF) during Operation Sindoor.

The Army Chief also reviewed joint operations carried out across the desert region from Jaisalmer to Kutch.

These included the swift deployment of surveillance systems and air defence units, which not only thwarted enemy attempts but also demonstrated India’s operational dominance on the western front.

General Dwivedi specifically praised the successful neutralisation of enemy drones, averting potential threats in the desert region.

Recognising Troops’ Resilience In Extreme Conditions

General Dwivedi acknowledged the resilience of the troops, especially those operating under harsh desert conditions, and reaffirmed the Army’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding India’s sovereignty.

Operation Sindoor, which involved high-intensity defensive manoeuvres along the India-Pakistan border, demonstrated the seamless coordination between the Indian Army, IAF, and BSF units.

It sent a powerful message of deterrence, showcasing India’s operational readiness and strategic depth in response to cross-border provocations.

Prime Minister Modi’s Upcoming Visit To Bikaner

Following the success of Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bikaner, Rajasthan, on May 22.

During his visit, he will offer prayers at the Karni Mata Temple in Deshnok, inaugurate the newly modernised Deshnok Railway Station, and may interact with soldiers at the Nal Airbase.

The Longewala post holds a special place in Indian military history. During the 1971 India-Pakistan war, only 120 Indian soldiers successfully defended the post against a force of 2,000 Pakistani troops.

With vital support from the Indian Air Force’s Hunter aircraft, which destroyed 45 Pakistani tanks, the Indian Army delivered a decisive defeat to the enemy, turning Longewala into a symbol of unmatched bravery and resilience.
