Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met members of all-party delegations who had returned from diplomatic missions abroad.

The meeting took place at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. The discussions focused on India’s firm stance against Pakistan-sponsored terror following Operation Sindoor.

Delegation members shared their experiences and presented India’s position during their visits. They strongly highlighted Pakistan’s support and use of terrorism against India.

The teams, however, called for Pakistan to be placed on the Financial Action Task Force’s (FATF) grey list.

The Centre had earlier praised the work of the seven delegations. These comprised over 50 members, mainly serving MPs.

Delegations represented broad political spectrum

The diplomatic teams included former MPs and retired diplomats. They visited 33 international capitals and the European Union headquarters.

The Ministry of External Affairs had earlier recognised their efforts in promoting India’s anti-terror message abroad.

Leadership of the delegations was balanced between the ruling alliance and opposition parties. Four teams were led by ruling alliance members—two from BJP, one each from JD(U) and Shiv Sena. Opposition parties led three teams—Congress, DMK and NCP (SP).

Notable delegation leaders, however, included BJP’s Baijayant Panda, Congress’s Shashi Tharoor, JD(U)’s Sanjay Jha, Shiv Sena’s Shrikant Shinde, DMK’s Kanimozhi, and NCP(SP)’s Supriya Sule. Each led teams to different global regions.

United stand against terrorism

The initiative demonstrated rare political unity on a key issue. Leaders from both ruling and opposition parties joined forces to present a strong message on Pakistan-sponsored terror.

Even Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi participated alongside BJP and allies.

Operation Sindoor was launched on 7 May. It was a direct response to the 22 April terror attack in Pahalgam.

The Indian Armed Forces conducted precision strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Over 100 terrorists from Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen were killed in the strikes.
