Onus Of Naidu’s Arrest Lies On Modi Government : YS Jagan Mohun Reddy

In an astonishing development, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohun Reddy has put the onus of the arrest of his arch-rival and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on the Modi government in the centre. “It was the Central government which initiated action against the corruption cases of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president,” said the incumbent Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister.

Reddy was addressing his party workers in Vijayawada. “The Union Government has employed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Income Tax (IT) to probe the corruption cases against Naidu,” he said.

Reddy also announced that the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections might take place in March next year and the party manifesto will be released in February. He also urged his party workers to instantly get into action and ensure that YSRCP retains in power in the state.

He also said that he was in London when his predecessor was arrested. He also asserted that if his government have arrested Naidu then he would easily have got bail by now. “Probe into his irregularities have started during TDP tenure but Naidu deliberately put the CBI at bay,” Reddy said.

YSRCP and the TDP are the main political forces in the southern state.
