On-Camera Tragedy: Twin Sisters Killed, Parents Injured In Pune Road Accident

A tragic incident occurred in Pune’s Vishrantiwadi Chowk on Monday evening, resulting in the loss of two young lives. Satish Kumar Jha, aged 40, was riding a two-wheeler with his 3-year-old twin daughters and wife. The family came to a stop at a traffic light at Vishrantiwadi Chowk.

As the traffic light transitioned to green, a petrol tanker, approaching from behind, collided with the motorcycle. The impact was devastating, leading to the immediate loss of the two young children. In the wake of the collision, both parents sustained injuries.

The heart-wrenching accident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity. The footage revealed the immediate response of bystanders who rushed to the scene, and emergency services were called to transport the family to a hospital.

The mother sustained severe injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Sassoon Hospital, while the father’s injuries were relatively minor. Authorities have taken the driver of the petrol tanker into custody.

“The tanker hit the motorcycle immediately after the signal turned green at the chowk. The driver of the truck was arrested under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicles Act,” stated the police.

This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for vigilance and safety on the roads to prevent such devastating accidents.
