Asika police station became numero uno in India
Amit Shah: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has honoured the best police stations in the country. In this, Odisha’s Asika Police Station has secured the first position. Asika police station has been declared the best police station in the country for the year 2022.
The information has been shared by the Ministry of Home Affairs. He was awarded during the DGP/IG Conference-2022 which began on Friday at the National Agricultural Science Complex in New Delhi.
Fifteen Dozen officers every year
About 15 dozen officers are selected every year in the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service, but some officers discharge their responsibilities so well that they become an example. One such name is Brijesh Rai. Brijesh Rai is a 2009 batch IPS officer from the state of Odisha. Under his leadership, the Asika police station in Ganjam district has been declared the best police station in the country.
Promoted to the post of DIG some time back
Gangapur police station, which comes under Brijesh Rai’s jurisdiction, was earlier included in the top three police stations. Brijesh Rai was promoted to the post of DIG some time ago and he has been honoured many times for his courageous works. Brijesh originally belongs to Kachhi Kalan Gramsabha of Mau district of Uttar Pradesh. His father was Joint Director in the Education Department and his mother was a school teacher.
‘There should be no problem with complaints’
Brijesh Rai, the then SP of Ganjam, believes that full care should be taken to ensure that the people who reach the police station with complaints. They should get proper service so that the general public does not face any problems regarding their complaints as well. Along with this, he has implemented the Odisha government’s 5T initiative in a better way in all the police stations of the Ganjam district. Due to the reduction in crime and proper streamlining of the law and order situation, the Asika police station is now considered as the best police station in the country.
