Good news from Modi government today to Indian Air Force with first made-in-India light combat helicopters for the military wing.
Weighing 5.8 tons with an armor protection and night attack capability, the light combat helicopter has a for better survivability crash-worthy landing gear also.
This is the first of its king indigenously developed choppers going to be inducted in the Indian Airforce today.
The country is going to witness its first made-in-India light combat helicopters induction in the air wing of Indian military today in the presence of defense minister Rajnath Singh in attendance.
The induction will prove to be a big boost” to “combat prowess’’ of the Air Force, as per the announcement made by the Indian defense minister said on Sunday. The minister also expressed his pleasure about the induction through his tweet.
Mr Rajnath Singh is going to attend the induction ceremony visiting to Jodhpur in Rajasthan where Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari will welcome him for the ceremony.
Post the induction ceremony, official sources told that the first fleet of indigenously-built Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) has been developed mainly for fighting on mountains. This has been developed as chopper for mountain warfare. Comprising four helicopters the fleet has been inducted in the Indian Air Force in Jodhpur with a glorious ceremony in presence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari along with other senior military officials.
The memorable credit of the creation goes to Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. The HAL developed the state-run aerospace major 5.8-tonne twin-engine gunship chopper which has air-to-air missiles capacity along with rocket systems, 20 mm turret guns and other weapons.
Two years ago in the Light Combat Helicopter was declared ready for production. and the very next month in March 2020, PM Modi-led Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) has also approved the procurement of fifteen India made Limited Series Production (LSP) LCH.
