Nita Ambani Celebrates 60th Birthday
Mrs Nita Ambani, the Chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, celebrated her 60th birthday with a heartwarming act of service. On this special day, she personally served over 3,000 underprivileged children at an ‘Anna Seva’ event in Mumbai. These school-going children not only received nourishing meals but also enjoyed an evening of entertainment and received thoughtful gifts.
Mrs. Nita Ambani has consistently expressed her deep commitment to children and women, and this event demonstrated her dedication to these causes. She was seen engaging with the students, shaking hands with them, and cutting a large birthday cake, symbolizing her connection with the community.
Throughout her leadership, the Reliance Foundation, under her guidance, has positively impacted the lives of over 71 million individuals. On the occasion of her 60th birthday, a statement from the Reliance Foundation revealed that ‘Anna Seva’ was carried out for 1.4 lakh people across India. This involved serving hot cooked meals to communities and distributing dry ration kits to those in need in 15 different states of India.
Mrs. Nita Ambani is a multi-faceted individual, known as an educationist, philanthropist, businesswoman, patron of the arts and sports, and a champion of women and children’s rights. She aspires to empower millions of Indians with resources and opportunities, beyond her role as the first lady of Indian business.
Notably, she has made her mark in the international arena as well. She is the first Indian woman to be elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee and serves as a trustee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, becoming the first Indian to hold this position.
In her quest to further women’s empowerment in India, she has founded ‘Her Circle,’ an inclusive and interactive digital movement. Mrs. Nita Ambani is also the founder and chairperson of the Dhirubhai Ambani International School, which offers world-class educational opportunities and was established in Mumbai in 2003. Additionally, she leads the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai, which was recently inaugurated.
