PRAYAGRAJ: Ninety-three children were deboarded at Prayagraj Junction from Seemanchal Express going from Jogbani, Bihar to Anand Vihar, on Thursday. It is suspected that these children were being trafficked.
It is reported that the control room received information that these children were being trafficked. They were being taken illegally towards cities like Dehradun, Jaipur, Delhi etc. Along with these children, nine other people were also landed here. Later the children were handed over to Child Welfare Committee (CWC).
These children were boarded in Seemanchal Express from Araria station in Bihar. These children got general tickets. These children were traveling in six different groups in the train. The age of these children is said to be nine to 13 years. It is suspected that these children were being trafficked.
At present the RPF has handed over the children to the Child Welfare Committee which is interrogating the children. Counseling of children is also being done. Senior Divisional Security Officer of Railway Protection Force Prayagraj Division Vijay Prakash Pandit said that we are studying as per the written instructions.
Inquiry is also going on in the matter. Agents say that he was taking children to study in a madrassa. On the other hand, the Child Welfare Committee is now conducting counseling to get to the bottom of the matter. During interrogation it was revealed that the children were being forcibly sent. Let us tell you that similarly last year also children from Saharsa, Purnia and districts of Bihar were dropped here.
