'Nijat' Campaign To End Deadly Connection Of Addiction And Crime

There is deep connection between addiction and crime. Dr. Santosh Singh, SP in Raipur, revealing his analysis of criminals says that often crime has some connection with addiction. With intent of reducing crime in area, Dr. Singh decides to solve (get Nijat) the problem from the root by ending the addiction-crime relation.

Dr. Santosh Singh has delivered tremendous result through ‘Nijat’ campaign which intend to get youth out of trap of addiction. The program is under practice from last 3 years. Serving on the position of SP, Dr. Santosh Singh has inspired number of young citizens to leave the trap of addiction and crime and live a life of honor.

Dr. Singh has also been felicitated with an award from International Association of Chief of Police Organization in 2022 for his tremendous work in Rajnadganv district.

His initiative has also been recognized by Home Ministry as one of the 30 smart policing work.

Tracing and detaining smugglers, conducting workshop in schools and other premises are few of the works done under the ‘Nijat’ initiative.

Talking to a news platform, Dr Santosh Singh says that he continue to work on the said campaign and social awakening has served as one of the most effective tool in the journey.

Who is Dr. Santosh Singh

Santosh Singh has worked continuously for community policing. In 2018, while serving as SP in Mahasamund, he was honoured with the ‘Champions of Change’ award by former Vice President and Venkaiah Naidu for ‘child friendly policing’.

He also holds the record of training one lakh children in self-defence in Mahasamund. During the Corona period in Raigarh, the police had created a new record by distributing Raksha Sutra masks to 12.37 lakh people on the day of Rakhi with the help of common people.

Moreover, every police station in capital Raipur performs as counseling station for the youngsters involved in minor crimes due to addiction.
