The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Tuesday convened its Parliamentary Party meeting to deliberate on the Union Budget 2026 and the government’s long-term vision for Viksit Bharat 2047. The meeting is being held at the Parliament Library Building in the national capital.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Health Minister JP Nadda, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, along with other NDA ministers and Members of Parliament, are attending the meeting.
Upon his arrival, Prime Minister Modi was congratulated by reporters over the recently announced India-US trade deal. Responding to the greetings, the Prime Minister smiled and waved at the media, saying, ‘Thank you!’
India and the United States reached a trade deal on Monday following a phone conversation between PM Modi and US President Donald Trump. This marked the second trade agreement concluded by India in the past ten days.
NDA Leaders Applaud Trade Agreements
During the meeting, NDA leaders congratulated the Prime Minister for securing multiple recent trade deals, describing them as significant steps for India’s economic engagement globally. Newly elected BJP chief Nitin Nabin was also warmly welcomed by party leaders at the gathering.
Prime Minister Modi is also scheduled to address the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting.
Budget 2026 And The Roadmap To Viksit Bharat
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will outline the key features and forward-looking vision of the Union Budget 2026 through a detailed presentation. The focus will be on how the budget serves as a major step towards achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Guidelines will also be shared on effectively communicating the budget’s features and benefits to the public, along with a roadmap for outreach. Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2026 in the Lok Sabha on Sunday, marking her ninth budget.
It was guided by three ‘kartavyas’ aimed at boosting economic growth, improving competitiveness, meeting aspirations, and ensuring inclusive access to resources and opportunities.
The Prime Minister had earlier hailed the budget as a ‘highway of immense opportunities,’ stating that the ‘Reform Express’ on which India is riding will gain new energy and momentum through this budget.
