Fatehpur: Prayagraj STF along with Sultanpur Ghosh police station on Wednesday arrested criminal Rajesh Maurya carrying a reward of Rs. 25,000. He has defrauded more than Rs 150 crore. Superintendent of Police Uday Shankar Singh said that Rajesh Maurya lived by the name of Raja Singh in Nehru Nagar of Indore city of Madhya Pradesh. He had changed his appearance. He used to live in the guise of a Sardar, so that people could not recognize him.
Rajesh Maurya worked in marketing sector after passing the intermediate examination in 2007.
Later by registering an NGO in the name of R.K.M Shikshan Sansthan, he collected crores of rupees by luring people with double the benefits. The story of his fraudulent exploits was spread in states other than Uttar Pradesh.

Preliminary investigation by the police has revealed that Rajesh Maurya misled people and extorted money from them through fake documents and receipts. There are many cases of fraud registered against him. To escape from the police, he kept changing disguises and changing his locations. After getting accurate information about him, STF and police station took joint action and arrested him near Karmepur Mor.
Originally he lived in Khajuriya village of Sultanpur Ghosh police station area. Apart from here, he had absconded with more than Rs 150 crore by luring thousands of people in many districts to double their money. Now the police will take further action to confiscate his property.
