A national seminar titled ‘Peace, Harmony and Development’ was organised at the Rabindranath Tagore Auditorium in Kolkata.
West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh, Jain Acharya Lokesh, founder of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti, and Swami Govinddev Giri, Treasurer of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, attended the event.
The programme also featured addresses by Sardar Satnam Singh Ahluwalia of Gurdwara Behala and Dr Buddha Priya Bhikshu of the Bharatiya Sangharaj Bhikshu Mahasabha.
Minister Dilip Ghosh formally inaugurated the West Bengal branch of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti. He said the organisation would work under the guidance of Acharya Lokesh to promote non-violence, peace, social harmony, and inclusive development throughout the state.
The Minister expressed confidence that the initiative would strengthen public awareness, cooperation, and progress in West Bengal.
Acharya Lokesh stated that peace, harmony, and development are closely linked and form the foundation of a prosperous society. He said people can achieve lasting progress only when they foster an environment free from conflict and violence.
Referring to global challenges, Acharya Lokesh emphasised the growing need for dialogue, understanding, and inclusive growth. He added that a peaceful society enables individuals to realise their full potential.
Chairman Vinod Dugar said Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti remains committed to strengthening national character, promoting human values, and advancing peace worldwide. He noted that the opening of the Bengal branch would provide fresh momentum to social harmony and development in the state.
Swami Govinddev Giri described Sanatan Dharma as a way of life that encourages compassion, love, and harmony. He said the principles of Indian culture continue to inspire peaceful coexistence.
The programme began with the National Anthem and National Song. Senior Vice President Ramesh Tiwari delivered the vote of thanks, while Rohit Surana conducted the event.
