26th Hepatitis Day Observance: Team ILBS is celebrating 26th Hepatitis Day on 4th December in Delhi, under which a discussion is being organized. This event will be held at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, Delhi.
Many distinguished people will also participate in this discussion. Delhi Government’s Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj has been invited as the chief guest in this discussion.

Let us tell you that hepatitis is a serious disease related to liver. Due to which, if timely treatment is not received, the patient may even die. Let us tell you, delay in treatment of hepatitis can lead to jaundice and then liver cirrhosis or liver cancer. There are five types of infections in hepatitis: A, B, C, D and E.

Purpose of this 26th Hepatitis Day
The day seeks to support individuals impacted by hepatitis and to encourage prevention, testing, and treatment. This awareness campaign is necessary due to the alarming statistics that indicate someone dies worldwide every 30 seconds from hepatitis or related illnesses. Viral hepatitis is a hidden killer that claims many lives every year. Raising public awareness of the problem and the actions that must be taken to strengthen efforts at viral hepatitis prevention, screening, and control is the aim of World Hepatitis Day.
