MP Leaders Call For ‘Operation Sindoor’ To Be Included In School Curriculum

Political leaders in Madhya Pradesh have voiced strong support for including ‘Operation Sindoor’ in the school curriculum, following a similar move by the Uttarakhand Madrasa Education Board.

Leaders hail the operation as a landmark military success against Pakistan and view it as a unifying moment that deserves inclusion in academic instruction.

On Friday, senior leaders from both the ruling BJP and the Opposition Congress called for ‘Operation Sindoor’ to be part of the educational syllabus in Madhya Pradesh.

They argued that schools should teach the exemplary bravery of the Indian Armed Forces to inspire patriotism among the youth.

BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma, representing Bhopal’s Huzur constituency, described ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a ‘historic’ mission.

“Within 30 minutes, our armed forces decimated nine terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. This feat has filled every Indian with pride. Future generations must be aware of this,” Sharma said.

Congress MLA Arif Masood also endorsed the idea, calling it a ‘moment of national unity’ akin to India’s freedom struggle.

Speaking from his Bhopal Madhya constituency, Masood added, “I welcome its inclusion in the curriculum. But the silence over Colonel Sofiya Qureshi’s contribution must also be addressed in this educational effort.”

Operation Sindoor’s Educational Debut In Uttarakhand

Earlier this week, the Uttarakhand Madrasa Education Council President, Mufti Shamoon Qasmi, announced plans to include ‘Operation Sindoor’ in the madrasa curriculum up to the alia (intermediate) level.

The move, he stated, aims to foster patriotism among students and highlight the state’s legacy as the ‘land of heroes’.

“We want our students to learn about the valour of our Defence forces. Including stories like ‘Operation Sindoor’ will help instil national pride,” Qasmi said, addressing the media in Dehradun.

Launched in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack of April 22, which claimed 26 lives, ‘Operation Sindoor’ involved precision strikes by Indian forces on May 7.

Indian forces destroyed nine terror training centres in a swift four-day confrontation, marking one of the country’s most decisive military responses to cross-border terrorism.

With cross-party support growing, there is a strong possibility that Madhya Pradesh may soon follow Uttarakhand’s lead.

The inclusion of ‘Operation Sindoor’ in school textbooks could not only preserve a vital moment in India’s defence history but also serve as a catalyst for a more patriotic and united youth.
