Symptom of food poisoning
More than 100 students of Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education were admitted in government-operated Jayarogya Hospital in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh late Tuesday night suspected food poisoning after consuming paneer.

Out of those admitted approximately 70 received medication, while over 25 required IV drips. Quite a few students showed shivering symptoms and received appropriate treatments. Speaking to media persons Dr. RKS Dhakad, the Superintendent of Jayarogya Hospital, said that one student was in a critical condition and immediately put on a ventilator. The age range of the patients admitted is between 18 to 25 years.
Dr Dhakad, however said, that there isn’t any loss of lives but several students were in serious condition. Even the help of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) were taken. He thanked God that each patient was given adequate medical attention.

Primarily there was shortage of beds which was instantly arranged. The initial symptoms displayed by those affected patients included vomiting, cramps, breathing difficulties, and nausea which strongly points towards food poisoning. Dr Dhakad also added that the food needs to be examined and only then the necessary conclusions can be drawn.
A report is to be compiled and would be shared with the Gwalior commissioner. This in turn would be forwarded to the state government for necessary actions.
