MNS Activist Dies of Heart Attack With Two Others Unwell, Had Agitated Earlier

In a shocking turn of events, a young Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activist, Jay Malokar, 24, died in the hospital a few hours after participating in a protest and vandalizing the car of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLC and Spokesperson Amol Mitkari, party officials reported on Wednesday.

Malokar suddenly experienced severe discomfort and breathlessness following the intense protest against Mitkari, who had made objectionable remarks about MNS President Raj Thackeray. Medical personnel rushed him to a nearby hospital, but he passed away during treatment late at night due to suspected cardiac arrest, leaving MNS and political circles in shock.

In addition, two other MNS activists, Akola District President Pankaj Sable and Saurabh Bhagat, also faced similar health issues and required hospitalization after the agitation held at the government guest house.

Mitkari strongly condemned the attack and the destruction of his car, accusing Raj Thackeray of orchestrating the violence. Mitkari claimed that Thackeray’s own party members were involved in the agitation.

Akola Police filed complain against protesters including dead MNS activist

Following the incident and a counter-protest by Mitkari’s supporters, Akola Police have filed a case against over two dozen MNS activists. They have detained Sable and Bhagat while continuing their search for other suspects.

NCP President and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar contacted Mitkari late Tuesday to get a detailed briefing on the incident. Mitkari’s supporters intensified their security around his residence in response.

A video has gone viral showing MNS General Secretary Karnbala Dunbale threatening his supporters to “finish Mitkari within a week” or face dismissal. Dunbale, now among the suspects wanted by the Akola Police, remains at large.

MNS Chief Spokesperson Sandeep Deshpande criticized Mitkari, calling him “worthless” and accusing him of provoking unnecessary trouble with his remarks about Rajsaheb Thackeray.

As Malokar’s family pleads for justice, local party leaders announced that his funeral will take place in Akola this afternoon.
