
Motilal Nehru Medical College (MLNMC), Prayagraj, in collaboration with the Alumni Welfare Association and the Department of Surgery, will host the Alumni CME and Prestigious Orations 2025 on October 11, 2025.
The academic conclave will bring together renowned doctors from across India and abroad. They will share their research, experiences, and innovative techniques. This exchange aims to benefit both the medical community and the general public.
The evening will feature four distinguished memorial lectures. For the Prof DB Chandra Oration, Prof SP Singh, record-holding ophthalmic surgeon and former Principal of MLNMC, will speak on ‘Precision, Prediction and Perfection in Cataract Surgery’.
Prof Pritam Das Oration: Prof Ajai Khanna, leading transplant surgeon at the University of Pittsburgh, USA, will address ‘Multi Organ Transplantation’, drawing on his record of simultaneous liver, pancreas, and kidney transplants.
For the Prof RK Agrawal Oration, Prof Probal Neogi, International Affairs Convener and former National President of the Association of Surgeons of India, will present a lecture. The topic of his presentation is ‘Vanishing Touch: The Erosion of Clinical Examination’.
Prof SR Singh Oration: Dr Kushal Mittal, internationally acclaimed senior surgeon from Mumbai, will deliver a lecture on ‘Decoding Yourself’.
Strengthening Academic Legacy
Dr Jyoti Bhushan, President, further highlighted that the event reflects the college’s commitment to academic excellence and its rich traditions.
Meanwhile, Dr Sharad Jain, Convener, said the gathering of alumni and current students strengthens the institution’s identity, and Dr Mohit Jain, Vice Principal, noted it provides young doctors with fresh perspectives.
In addition, Dr Baijnath Gupta, Treasurer, added that the program underscores the active role of the Alumni Welfare Association, inspiring future generations.
Moreover, Dr Pankaj Kamra, Secretary, and Dr Santosh Singh, Organising Secretary, emphasised that international experts will raise awareness about modern surgical techniques and their benefits.
The day will then commence at 9:00 AM with the Surgeons’ Reunion 2025, according to Dr Vaibhav Srivastava, Head of the Surgery Department.
During the reunion, former students will revisit the college, share experiences, and rekindle memories. Additionally, the reunion aims to bridge past and present generations, enriching the department’s legacy while fostering knowledge exchange.
